Q: So, what is World of Warcraft (WoW) anyways?
A: World of Warcraft is one Blizzard’s latest projects and their first approach to the MMORPG genre. Not much more to say about it, simply put a MMORPG set in the Warcraft universe.
Q: But, what is a MMORPG?
A: MMORPG is short for Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. It’s a genre where focus is on interaction between many players at the same time, usually 1000+ in the world at the same time. Think of it as a “real life” online.
Q: What are emotes and how can I use them?
A: Emotes are different actions for your character, for example dancing, hugging and waving. To use a emote type for example /dance to dance. A full emote list can be found here.
Q: How many characters can I have on my account?
A: It is not yet decided how many characters you can have on your account but it most likely be 8-10 characters per server.
Q: Will there be different types of servers?
A: Yes, there will. There will also be several servers of each type. Different types of servers might include PvE (Player versus Enviroment) servers, PvP (Player versus Player) servers and probably also Role Playing servers.
Q: What are factions and will there be factions in WoW?
A: Factions in World of Warcraft are forces and each player belongs to one. In WoW every player of the races Orcs, Tauren, Trolls and Undead will belong to the Horde faction and every player of the races Night Elves, Gnomes, Dwarves and Humans will belong to the Alliance faction. Factions are very important on PvP (Player versus Player) servers where you will fight players of the opposing faction.
